The Queen of Sparks receives the Tennessee Star of Compassion

Hello Taylor Nation!
The Enchantress has received the 2012 Honorary Star of Compassion Award from officials at Northwest Tennessee Disaster Recovery. According to StarPulse.com, the Blonde With The Sparkly Guitar was named the recipient after her charity work during state disasters and her multiple donations to schools.
Rob Adcock, director of the organization, had this to say about the Sparkly Dressed: ”Taylor Swift has inspired the small community of Northwest Tennessee with her uplifting words and music of encouragement and has become a positive role model for the young and old alike here. It is with great honor and appreciation that we present this one of a kind, jeweled award to such an outstanding individual on behalf of our organization.”
On other less exciting news, the Ottawa Citizen reports the Capital Hoedown organizers have released a statement revealing the new venue for their event: the Numech ranch in 6930 Fallowfield Rd. in Stittsville. However, they will not get back their $72,000 deposit from the city as it’s being seized by the Canada Revenue Agency for delaying to file their taxes concerning the Capital Hoedown from 2011. The organizers are not worried (they should be) and claim to be working on revamping their lineup. A previous statement declared customers unhappy with the new venue or the new lineup would be able to get a refund starting June 19.

Justin Bieber and Taylor Swift pen song for 'Believe'

Apparently Taylor Swift wasn’t too upset about getting Punk’d by Justin Bieber recently. The post-teen princess teamed up with the Canadian wunderkind to write a song for his next album, Believe. Per MTV News, Swift will be a little bit country to Bieber’s a little bit zebra pants, though there’s no word on whether she provided vocals on the track, à la Hunger Games megahit “Safe and Sound,” or if she’ll simply take a writing credit.
Swift joins a roster of heavy hitters on the collab, including Kanye West and Drake. Said Bieber, “With my music, it doesn’t only stay in a box. It’s so out there. Everything is so different and that’s why I’m so happy with this album.” “Boyfriend,” Bieber’s first single from Believe, peaked at number 2 on the Billboard Hot 100, and the singer recently sent shivers down the spines of his followers when news of collaborations with Carly Rae Jepsen and One Direction hit the Internet.

Taylor Swift Is OUT Of Les Mis! Samantha Barks Cast As Eponine!

Whoa! What happened here?!
Although Taylor Swift had been widely reported as the lucky lady to be cast as Eponine in the upcoming Tom Hooper-directed adaptation of the musical Les Misérables, it appears now that theater actress Samantha Barks, who played the role during the 25th Anniversary Concert, has won the role!
During the curtain call of Manchester's Palace Theatre performance of Oliver! last night, in which Barks is currently playing Nancy, producer Cameron Mackintosh appeared on stage to make the announcement for the first time to the cast and audience alike that the young actress had won the part - and according to audience members present, "the look on her face was priceless."
Check out her performance of On My Own from the West End concert (above)!
You can't deny she's a pretty solid fit!
But we can't help but wonder what went down behind-the-scenes that got Swift the boot? That was the role of a lifetime for her!
What do U think? Are U pleased with the new Eponine?

Taylor Swift Donates THOUSANDS Of Books To Nashville Library

Aww! Taylor Swift is so sweet!
The country singer is giving back to the city that made her a star and donated 14,000 Scholastic books to the Nashville Public Library.
It's such a huge donation that it's actually the largest received by the local library to date.
You'll know when you are reading a book Swifty donated too. Each one, which can be checked out at 21 branches of the city library, includes a donation plate on the inside cover that will read: "A Gift to the Children of Nashville from Taylor Swift and Scholastic Inc."
Some of the books will also be used as prizes for completing the summer program or donated to low-income children, preschools and daycare centers around town.
Very cool move, Taylor!

Birds-Eye View! Taylor Swift Makes Feathered Friends in London

Wednesday January 25, 2012 03:00 PM EST
Sparks are flying between Taylor Swift and the London locals – the feathery ones, that is.

The singer has been spending time across the pond, reportedly in rehearsals for a movie version of Les Miserables, but she's managed to snag a few hours for herself, going shopping on Portobello Road and getting chocolate from Old Bond Street.

On Tuesday, wearing a cat-print skirt, Swift visited the Diana, Princess of Wales Memorial Fountain in Hyde Park, where she also communed with the fauna in the Serpentine River. Standing under a brown umbrella in the rain, Swift snapped cell phone photos of the swans and ducks in the water.

The next day, Swift got even more intimate with the London wildlife, visiting the London Zoo, where she checked out various bird species and stepped inside the butterfly exhibit.
